Obituary

Harold "Tink" Bennett, Sr. of East End, Arkansas was born February 16, 1947 in Waldenburg, Arkansas to HC and Louise (Everett) Bennett.

Tink graduated from Grubbs High School in 1965. Tink grew up working on Hurricane Farm near Grubbs, AR. It is here where his strong work ethic developed. Tink was known as one of the hardest working men most have ever met. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He worked in the commercial refrigeration business several years before starting his own business in 1982. Tink retired from Bennett's Commercial Refrigeration in 2016. However, Tink was not very good at retirement. He did not like to be idle. He spent his days working in his shop and on his properties. He loved to ride his tractor and work in the yard.

Tink married his sweetie Jenny Bennett on January 1, 1981. He and Jenny shared a blended family and soon their son, Harold "Eddie" Bennett Jr. was born to complete the family. Tink valued family over everything. His kids, grandkids and great grandkids were the apples of his eye and his pride and joy. Tink loved to attend his grandchildren's school programs, church programs and ballgames. There was never a doubt which child belonged to Tink because he made sure you knew who he was there for. He bragged on their accomplishments to anyone who would listen. Tink also loved to spoil them with quick trips to Sonic for ice cream or the hardware store for candy and popcorn.

Tink was an important part of the East End Community. He could be found most mornings at East End Café or Edward's Food Giant visiting with friends and drinking coffee. He played a big part in bringing new businesses to East End. Tink donated money and volunteered his services for the community on several occasions. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He loved his church family dearly. Tink was also a member of River Bend Deer Camp, where he spent many precious days with his sons and grandchildren hunting. Tink never met a stranger and never left anyone in need. He was a genuine, caring, Christian man.

Tink passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at University of Arkansas for Medical Services Hospital at the age of 73. Survivors include his wife Jenny Bennett of East End, mother Louise Bennett of Jonesboro, daughters Jacquetta (Kenny) Herron of East End and Kelly (Mark) South of Little Rock, sons Jason Smotherman and Eddie (Stephanie) Bennett, all of East End, brothers David Bennett of Jonesboro and Bryant Bennett of Alicia, sister Gloria (GiGi) Cuccarese of Anaheim, California, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Tink also leaves behind his best friend and hunting buddy Terry Pruett.

Tink is preceded in death by brother Brett Bennett, son Corky Bennett and father HC Bennett.
