Harold Garland Smith of Redfield, Arkansas was born August 19, 1942 in Little Rock, the son of the late James Garfield Smith and Essie McGill Smith.
He was a charter member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Hensley, had served in the Arkansas Air National Guard for 6 years, was a master plumber, being a member of Local 155 Plumbers and Fitters Union. He had also retired from Sheridan School District after 21 years of service.
He was very active in the church and he enjoyed helping with the nursing home and prison ministries.
Harold died Monday, June 23, 2025 at UAMS in Little Rock at the age of 82.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Smith, Alfred Smith, Lloyd Smith, Elmer Smith, Leon Smith; sisters, Alieen Smith, Dorothy Smith, Linda Wood, Helen Palmer; and granddaughter, Amber McDaniel.
Survivors: wife, best friend and soul mate for 62 ½ years Martha Chandler Smith of Redfield; sons, Mike Nutter (Penny) of Woodson, Allen Smith (Sherry) of Redfield; brothers, Morris Smith (Tina) of North Little Rock, Preston Smith (Margaret) of Bryant; 3 grandchildren, Kristina Marshall (Wesley), Zachery Smith, Kimberlee Smith (Jackson Calvert), 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Elliott Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery near Redfield. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Wayne Shilling, Charles Minyard, Paul Brewer, Antonio Garcia, Clint Montgomery and Larry Claus. Honorary pallbearers are James Richardson, Ray Casey and members of Cornerstone Fellowship Church.
