Harold Dale Ward, 88, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born, November 17, 1923, in Newport, Arkansas, to Mitchell and Inez Nast Ward.
He was reared and educated in Batesville.
Mr. Ward served in the United Sates Army during WWII.
He had been the owner and operator of several saw mills in Arkansas and Mississippi during his younger years. He also had worked at Fox Lumber and was owner and operator of Ward Realty. During his later years he had worked as a maintenance
supervisor for Ferrell Management Company.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Dillard Ward and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Levern Dugger Ward; a daughter, Cindy Hedden of Sheridan; a brother, Gene Ward of Arnold, Missouri; two grandchildren, Casey Hedden and Mandy Parker; three stepchildren, Larry Mayher, Dewayne Mayher and Sharon Castleberry; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 PM until service time Tuesday at Robinson's.
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Gene Murdock and Dr. Harold Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
