Obituary

Havis Ray Plunkett of Grapevine, Arkansas was born April 12, 1923 in the Ain Community the son of the late John Alva and Gladys Belle Johnson Plunkett. He was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan where he had served as Church Clerk and Deacon. He was Vice President of Center Grove Water Association. In the1980's he was a Quorum Court member, former President of the Grapevine School Board, former member of the Grant County Farm Bureau Board, served on Grant County Democrat Committee and later County Election Committee. He was a member of the F.T P. Hunting Club, Taylor Lodge #206, had served in the Navy in World War II as a Machine Specialist and was a retired Car Shop Supervisor for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He also loved to truck patch.

Mr. Plunkett died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 83.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruby Davis Plunkett who died July 19, 2004.

Daughter, Gladys Jane Allen of New Edinburg;
Brothers, John Ed Plunkett of Grapevine;

Seven grandchildren, Sonya Renee Plunkett; Richard Andrew Plunkett; Jodi Raedelle Noblett; Timothy Shane Plunkett; Justin Flint Allen; Lydia Marie Plunkett and Karee Raechelle Plunkett Dowty.
Six Great Grandchildren, Seth Noblett; Colton Bates; Tristan Elliott; Teri Noblett; Carson Allen and Ethan Noblett.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Leroy Jones, Bro. Don Plunkett and Bro. Hosea Harrington officiating. Burial will follow at Ain Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation:5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andy Plunkett, Flint Allen, Shane Plunkett, Donald Clark, Jim Evans, Rayvon Vailes, Danny Moffett, Allen Kelley, Patrick Campbell, Joe Henry Young, L.V. Smith and Gary Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Pittman, Kenneth Noblett and David Dowty.
