Hazel Descant LaFleur of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 18, 1920 at Dora near Cottonport, Louisiana the daughter of the late Theophile and Celcina Descant. She was the owner of Hazel's Beauty Shop and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Padua. She was considered to have the best beauty shop in Bunkie and according to her family she was the best cook, mother and grandmother. She was an avid camper having been a member of Good Sam's Camping and Cajun Campers.
Mrs. LaFleur passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Brookside Healthcare and Rehab in Little Rock at the age of 95.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Francis LaFleur, her sisters, Ruby Moreau, Rancey Watts, Grace Aymond, Pearl Deshotel, Mackie Descant and Myrtle Chatlain, and a brother, Dick Descant.
Survivors: son, Francis Robert LaFleur and wife Evelyn Watts LaFleur of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughter, Jacqueline LaFleur Bell and husband John Gary Bell of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren; Jessica Bell Peterson, John Benjamin Bell and Angela Bell Kraft; great grandchildren; Taylor Nicole Qualls and Nina LaFleur Peterson; great great grandchildren, Ava Kay and Brody Simpson; sister, Pat Saucier of Getna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Visitation will be at 9:00 prior to the Mass at Hixon Funeral Home in Bunkie Louisiana.
