Helen Slaughter Harper

Helen Slaughter Harper of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 6, 1937 in Dumas, the daughter of the late Lewis and Ruby Combs Slaughter. She was a member of Brickview Baptist Church in Little Rock.

She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing and cooking.

Helen passed away at her home on September 18, 2026 at the age of 89.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Harper, son, Jeffrey Harper; daughters, Tammy Wright and Pam Harper and her only brother, Howard “Ron” Slaughter.

Survivors: 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Stacy Slaughter of Sheridan and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026 with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until service time.

Pallbearers are Ryan Watson, Jackson Williamson, Gavin Marshall, Clayton Watson, Wayne Slaughter and Zach Slaughter.
