Herman Eugene King of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 30, 1930 in Lake Village, Arkansas, the son of the late Lex L. and Nettie Susie Clingan King. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a retired heavy equipment operator for Custom Builders of Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dominoes and drinking coffee at Hardees.
Mr. King died at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the age of 91.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sue Lemons King who died June 13, 1993; sisters, Jimmy May and Susie May; son, Eddie King and a grandson, Chris King.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Dean Herndon King of Sheridan; sons, Larry King of Malvern, Dale King of Pensacola, Florida; step-son, Danny Herndon and wife Kathey of Sheridan; daughter, Bonnie King of Wills Point, Texas; honorary friend, Sandy Chapman of Ico: and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation before the service from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Due to the extreme heat, the family has requested the service dismiss at the chapel, with no service at the cemetery.
