Hollis Anthony Hicks of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 19, 1961 at Pine Bluff. He was a self-employed carpenter, was a founding member of Smith & Hicks Hunting Club, and had an incredible talent of making custom guns and knives.
Mr. Hicks died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 50.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Hicks of Sheridan; sons, Michael, Colby, and Dalton; daughter, Jessica; parents, Hollis Andrew Hicks and wife Bobbie of Mabelvale and Anne Baker of Sheridan; brothers, Scott (Cindy), Dave, and Ty Hicks all of Sardis; sisters, Sonya (Craig) Jeffords of Sheridan, Terri Woods of East End, and Danita (Scott) Dover of East End; grandchildren, Cody, Alec, Christian, Jace Bleu and Emily; aunts and uncles, Aunt Nieve of Mabelvale, Kay and Kenny Oakley, Jimmy and Via Baker and David and Sandy Baker, all of Sheridan; nieces and nephews, Jera (Chris) Batterton, Chris (Emily) Hicks, Holly Hicks, Landon McFarland, Blaine Woods, Calli Jeffords, Lexie Jeffords, Jessica Stokes, Nicole Dover and Payton Dover; a host of great nieces and nephews, other family members and many special friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Honorary Pallbearers: Elrod Roberts, Mikey Joe Thompson, Eddie Poe, Vic Hicks, Smitty Smith. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
