Howard Alton Easterling, Jr. of Leola, Arkansas was born May 5, 1942 in Fayetteville, the son of the late Howard A. Easterling, Sr. and Pearl Almeda Johnson Easterling. He was a minister for the Leola Church of Christ and was a retired science teacher and coach for Leola and Laneburg schools. He also retired from International Paper Mill in Leola having worked there for many years.

He enjoyed watching any Razorback sport and fishing on the docks of Cox Creek Lake.

Mr. Easterling died Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home at the age of 82.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd A. Easterling and his brother, Doug Easterling.

Survivors: wife, caregiver and best friend, Mary Sue Dial Easterling; daughter, Traci Harrington (David) of Sheridan; brother, Ronald Easterling (Patsy) of Glen Rose; sister, Mary Jane Easterling of Glen Rose; 4 grandchildren: 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, October 21, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. David Harrington and Bro. Jesse James officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Burial will be at Leola Cemetery in Leola.

Pallbearers are Wayne Miller, Randall Berry, Jimmy Dial, Austin Bowen, Gary Austin, and Larry Dial.
