Hugh Alva Crouch, of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born at Ashdown, Arkansas on March 18, 1920, the son of the late Vonley and Mary Pickett Crouch. He died at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock on September 16, 2006 at the age of 86 years.
He was a graduate of Ashdown High School; Southern State College at Magnolia, Arkansas, and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he received his BA and Master's Degrees.
He was a veteran of the Army, having served during WW II and was a retired school teacher of 30 years, having taught in Ashdown; Blevins, Sheridan, Lincoln, and Grapevine, Arkansas schools. He was a B.M.A. Baptist Minister, having pastored at Roe, Kingsland, Hammond Chapel at Gurdon, Unity at Nashville, and Zion at Anguilla, Mississippi. He retired from the University of Arkansas as a Garden Aid through the Grant County Extension Office.
He was a Charter Member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Nathan Winieecki officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Sheridan. Visitation will be Monday, 6 - 8 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rayvon Vailes, Bill Pittman, L.V. Smith, Randolph Reddin, Jim Evans, Redmond Keisler, Pat Reed and Gary Don Hix.
