Maxie Irene Davis Scott of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 29, 1945 in McCrory, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Cole Haley Davis, Sr. and Mollie Jewel Joyner Davis. She was of the Christian faith and had worked for 13 years at Keep N Teach, taking excellent care of children.

Irene was the life of the party, always laughing. She opened her heart and home to many people for many reasons. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.

Irene died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 71.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Davis and Donald Hunter and best friend and companion, Danny Shepherd.

Survivors: daughters, Paula Pitre and husband Pete; Sandie Scott; Debbie Scallion and husband Chris; brothers, Cole Davis, Jr. and wife Diane, Butch Davis and wife Barbara; sister, Linda Whitaker and husband Ricky; sisters-in-law, Paula Davis and Linda Hunter; father of her children, Walter Paul Scott all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Hannah and Marks Mitchell, Camden Smith, Mary Pitre, Lauren Scallion, Christin Scallion, Abby Scallion and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Dale Collins and Bro. John Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Wayne Valentine, Paul Wayne Allen, Rickey Whitaker, Jr., Jim Taggart, Richard Taggart, James Alexander, Ronnie Wallace, and Dickey Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Hall, Harlin Lisenbey and Dwight DeMoss.
