Jasper Capus "J.C." Culpepper of Leola, Arkansas was born August 1, 1941 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late Oscar Norris Culpepper and Alice Graves Culpepper.  He formerly served in the Arkansas Army National Guard, and was a diesel mechanic for many years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Hill Hunting Club.

Mr. Culpepper died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Little Rock, at the age of 81.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Wright Culpepper; a brother, Denver Culpepper, and sister-in-law, Norma Culpepper.

Survivors include his son, Curtis Wayne Culpepper, Sr. of Leola; daughter, Leann Culpepper Sallee of Sheridan; brother, Norris Culpepper of Sheridan; sister, Diane Vance of Ico Community; 3 grandchildren, Curtis W. Culpepper, Jr., Cortney Culpepper, Brandi Emberton; great granddaughter, Mariah Dimler. He is also survived numerous other family member and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Monday, August 22, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan.  The procession will then leave the funeral home for an 11:30 A.M. Graveside at Brush Creek Cemetery, near Leola.
