Jacob Timothy Davis, 66, of Sheridan, took his last breath with us and his first breath with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2006. He died at St. Vincent Hospital with his loved ones and friends , surrounded by love, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on May 19, 1939 in Malvern, Arkansas. He graduated from Grapevine High School in 1958 and later married Sue, the love of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Saratoga CVA60. He was employed by Maybelline USA in North Little Rock, Arkansas as a line mechanic. He was a retired fireman with the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Prattsville, Arkansas.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Lorene Massey Sadler Davis of Grapevine and Jacob Thomas Sadler of Dallas, Texas; his step-father, Woodrow Davis of Sheridan, Arkansas; his grand-mother, Laura Winkle Elliott of Benton, Arkansas and his grand-father, Bert Massey of Grapevine, Arkansas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Croy Davis; his beloved son, Michael Scott Davis and daughter-in-law Dawn of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter, Kardenia Lee Krist and son-in-law Roy of Moab, Utah; one brother-in-law, Terry Michael Croy and wife Barbara of Sheridan, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Martha Croft of Sheridan, Arkansas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church in Prattsville, Arkansas, with his son, Michael Scott Davis, Shawn Hill and Neal Pumphrey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Sheridan, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2006 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas.

The Davis family sends their heartfelt thanks to Maybelline, USA and their employees and Tim's co-workers; nurses of 1 Northwest at St. Vincent Hospital; to his doctors and their staff, Dr. Brad Baltz, Dr. Gary Collins, and Dr. Gail McCrackin for the loving care and concern shown to Tim and his family; also, special nurses, Jenna P., Paula, Ora and Deana. Their support and constant concern has been both a blessing and a God-send.

Some people pass through our lives with barely a trace that they were there. Tim passed through our lives and left a legacy of love, laughter, patience, hope and great faith. Tim has gone to Heaven, but the essence of him will linger forever in our hearts.

Pallbearers are Terry Michael Croy, John Burkhart, Henry Derrick, Chris Lang, Mark Scott and Gene Sligh. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Franklin Appling, Edwin Carter, Tracy Duane Croft, Craig Halpain, Chris Lang, Don LeCroy, Ken Lytle, Rob Ritchey, Doug Schafer, Benny Carroll Talbert, Billy White, Thomas Wingard and Tim Woodall.
