James William "Jim" Allen, Sr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 27, 1940 in Hope, Arkansas, the son of the late Ray Thomas Allen, Sr. and Janie Elizabeth Roberta Kidd Allen. He was a member of Sheridan First United Church, Williams Bend Hunting Club and Kappa Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building model airplanes and golfing as well as watching old movies and listening to music. He planned a yearly golf trip every year out of state.
Mr. Allen died Friday, December 18, 2020 at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado at the age of 80.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Allen, Jr. and his sister, Betty Jane Barrett.
Survivors: wife of 60 years, Carole Williams Allen of Sheridan; son James W. Allen, Jr. (Kelly) of Manchester, New Hampshire; daughter, Alicia Olivier (Tony) of El Dorado; sisters, Joann Seal of Texarkana, Texas, Mary Beth Caldwell (Jack) of Little Rock; 4 grandchildren, Austin Olivier, Grace Oliver, Declan Allen and Ryan Allen and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside service will be 10:30 A.M. on December 29, 2020 at Lost Creek Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Pallbearers are Jim Allen, Jr., Jack Caldwell, Arnold Williams, Sparky Hedden, Tony Olivier, and Frank Benton. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, Austin Olivier, Declan Allen and Ryan Allen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 357, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
