James Jerry Bennett of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 1, 1943 at Prattsville, Arkansas, the son of the late Oder Lee Bennett and Minnie Rose Ellen Williams Bennett.  He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Weyerhaeuser.     Mr. Bennett enjoyed staying close to home and spending time with his family.

He died Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home, at the age of 81.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two of his sisters, Shirley Cain and Paulette Ring.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Lyn Bennett; granddaughter, Samantha Maroney and husband Austin; great granddaughter, Averie Maroney, all of Sheridan; sisters, Anna Faye Hessler of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ruby Delilah Bryant of El Dorado, Arkansas, Patricia Sites of England, Arkansas.  He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends.

A time of remembrance will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church (6936 Hwy. 46 N., Sheridan, Arkansas)
