James Alva Crouch of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 23, 1946 in Ashdown, the son of the late Hugh Alva and Chloe Mae Bartee Crouch. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan. He had retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal after 30 years of service, and had proudly served his country in the United States Navy having fought in the Vietnam War. He served on the ship USS POCONO, USS SANDOVAL and the USS TUTUILA. He enjoyed going to gospel singings, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Crouch passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his home at the age of 76.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ann Crouch.
Survivors: wife, Kathy Sykes Crouch of Sheridan; daughter, Melissa and David Ward of Sheridan; son, Michael Crouch (Chris Carlisle and her children Allana and Carissa) of Louisiana; brother, John Crouch of Maumelle; 2 grandchildren, Kaleb Crouch, Gattin
Groome; loving pets, Zeus and Beethovan and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 9 th , 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Derrell Harris and Bro. Calvin Holmes officiating. Visitation will be Monday night at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bill McClellan, Don Evans, Gordon Gondek, Wayne Harris, Doug Higginbotham, and William Sullivan.
