Obituary

James Lee Doherty of Prattsville, Arkansas was born January 23, 1952 at Bearden, Arkansas, the son of Dora Sue Robinson Doherty and the late Paul Raymond Doherty. He was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, was formerly in the United States Army, and before his illness, was a Certified Nurses Assistant at Arkansas Health Center. James Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially riding motorcycles. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his friends and family. He was originally diagnosed with cancer and given a brief time to live. When he surpassed that time, he was asked what kept him going, from that point on his answer was "It's by the grace of God".

James Lee died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 60 .

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Watson and a brother, Paul Dean Doherty.

Survivors: Wife, Linda Wheeler Doherty of Prattsville;
Mother, Dora Sue Doherty of Sheridan; Sons, Ricky Jo McCullough and girlfriend Barbara Neal of Prattsville, Wayne Ross and wife Joy of Prattsville;
Daughter, Debbie Watson of Sheridan;
Sisters, Carolyn Wortham and husband Don of Searcy; Pauline Ausbrooks and husband Tony of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. The services will conclude at the chapel. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
