James Harold "Luke" Lucas of Fort Smith, Arkansas was born October 21, 1939 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the son of the late George H. and Laverne Puckett Lucas. He was founder of the Sheridan Boxing Club and loved painting, golfing, and working with his hands.

Mr. Lucas died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Fianna Hills Nursing Home in Fort Smith at the age of 78.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lucas; and step-grandsons Jacob and William Greenwalt.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lucas; sons, Rodney "Rock" Lucas and Curt Lucas; step-sons, Chuck and Kym Greenwalt; step-daughter, Robin Flippin; grandchildren, Nathan, Paul, Josh, Aidan, Alden, Ashton, Ava, and Kendall Lucas; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Feburary 11, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be 1-2 P.M. prior to the funeral.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Swilling, Frank Johnson, William Hicks, Jerry Humphries, Butch Campbell and Bud Gean. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ray Rodges.
