Obituary

James Henry Moore of Mabelvale, Arkansas was born June 19, 1921 at Prattsville, the son of the late Henry Clifton and Iva Lois Ray Moore. He was a member of Baseline Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served as Trustee and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Moore was also a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II in the 601 AAA Gun Battalion and also served stateside during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Arkansas Refrigeration Company , was a founding member of Sardis Water Association, and enjoyed raising cattle at his farm in Prattsville.

Mr. Moore died Friday, May 28, 2010 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant at the age of 88. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Francis Moore and a brother, David Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Moore of the home; sons, Dennis Moore of Bryant, Larry Moore of Mabelvale and Randy Moore of Van Buren; Step-son, John Tackett of Louisville, Kentucky; Daughters, Brenda Brimer of Benton and Rosemary McFarland of East End; Step-daughters, Vickie Bowen of Crossett, Connie Laster of Little Rock and Vanessa Troillett of Searcy; Brother, Roe Moore of Prattsville; Sisters, Jan McNeil of Pangburn and Charlene Graves of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Baseline Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock with Bro. Terry Perrish and Bro. R.W. Kessee officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Randy Moore, Larry Moore, Gary Brimer, Jeremy Laster, Jarrod Bowen, Mark Troillett. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Harmony Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Philadelphia Cemetery Association, C/O Joyce Bird, 4820 Hwy. 291 South, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150 or Saline Memorial Hospice, 23157 Interstate 30, Bryant, Arkansas 72022.
