James Ray Morris of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 6, 1937 at Grapevine, Arkansas, the son of the late Wiley and Rosie Jones Morris. He was a very skilled carpenter. enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Rudolph Hunting Club. He loved his family dearly and liked living a simple country life.

Mr. Morris died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home, at the age of 83. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Brewer Morris; brothers, Von Morris, Dewey Morris; sister, Reba Williams.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rhana and Anthony Hunter of Sheridan; special niece and nephew, Joyce and Robert Strom of Sheridan; sister, Vera Lee Launius of Grapevine; grandchildren, Tara (Scott) Lantrip, Lacey (Jeffrey) Murphy, Britnie Carlisle, B'jay Carlisle, Dallas Wingard, Garrett Strom; 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.
