James Lester Plunkett of Grapevine, Arkansas, was born on August 20, 1932, at Grapevine, the son of the late James Preston and Myrtis Lites Plunkett. He died at his home on July 12, 2008 at the age of 75 years. He was a retired welder for Cotton Belt Railroad, having worked for 44 years. He was a member of Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church; the Taylor Hunting Club for many years; the Hedden Chapel Cemetery Board; a 6 year member of the Grapevine School Board; had served in the US Army, and loved his family and especially his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James "Jimmy" Ernest Plunkett and two sisters, Chlorene Plunkett and Theola "Toad" Davis.

Survivors are his wife, Thelma Taylor Plunkett whom he married on November 9, 1953;

Sister, Marie Benton of the Ain Community:
9 Grandchildren, Brooks Koon; Chad Koon; Justin Koon; Mindy Plunkett; Ross Plunkett; Donna-Kaye Plunkett; Leah Plunkett; Hunter Plunkett; and Sydney Plunkett.
Great-grandchildren: Ella Claire; Hayden Brooks; and Emily Grace.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 10:00 AM at Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church at Grapevine, Arkansas, with Rev. C.C. Hodges, Rev. C.M. Carey, and Rev. James Foster officiating. Burial will be in Hedden Chapel Cemetery at Grapevine. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. The family wishes Special Thanks to Hospice Angels of Pine Bluff.
