James Lyndle Smith of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 21, 1950 at Pine Bluff, the son of the late James Oscar and Marilyn Lucille Koen Smith. He was a member of East End Baptist Church, and had served in the United States Air Force. James was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad, and had also worked at UAMS as a surgical scrub technician. Along with his family, he helped start two businesses in Sheridan, Pizza to You and Movie World Video.
James died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his home, at the age of 66. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry Smith.
Survivors include his brothers, Clyde Smith (Misty) and Gerald Smith (Kelly); sister-in-law, Carla Smith; nieces and nephews, Chackras Smith (Amy), Matthew Smith (Jordyn), Sam Smith (Brea), Giorgia (Jimmy), Jesse Smith, Drake Smith, Lennon Smith; great nieces and nephews, Austin Smith, Brandon Smith, Oscar Smith, Daphne Smith, Aden Spann, Preslee Hollingshead, Levi Smith, Aleah Smith.
At his request, only private family services will be held.
