Obituary

James Ory "Wee Wee" Griffin began his life's journey May 29, 1954 in Carthage (Farindale Community), Arkansas. He was born to the late Lee and Laurine Ingram Griffin and attended Carthage Public Schools. James, as most people referred to as "Wee Wee" was a former employee at Farindale for approximately 25 years, where he came in contact and got acquainted with many people. After being hit by and eighteen wheeler at the age of 5 and suffered brain damage, he was able to overcome many challenges by being able to drive and hold down a regular job.

He was a former member of Marks Memorial Church of God in Christ, in Farindale, but later moved his membership to the United Methodist Church in the Crossroads community. He was a faithful member there until his health failed him. He enjoyed driving, meeting people, and reading the Bible daily under the leadership of Pastor Brother Jack Gilbert.

James "Wee Wee" departed this earthly life at Lake Village Hospital, Lake Village, Arkansas and entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 15, 2023.

James was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Griffin, Sterling Lea, Dwight Griffin and Donnie Griffin; two sisters, Sharilyn Griffin Holmes and Loretta Griffin.

He leaves many memories to be cherished by 6 sisters, Nancy (Michael) Shields of Seattle, Washington, Yvonne (Jerry) Hill of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Beverly Griffin of Atlanta, Georgia, Joyce ((Alton) Davis of Grapevine, Marilyn (Oda) Taylor of Carthage, Raymelle Mayfield of Murray, Kentucky; brother, Larry Griffin of Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 22,2023 at 11:00 A.M.at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Hobbs, Sr. and Bro. Michael Deloney officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow at Hampton Springs near Carthage.

Pallbearers are Douglas Lea, Sterling Lea, Jervontae Hill, Skyler Curtis, T.J. Curtis, Antwan Thrower, Ricky Smith.
