Wells
July 24, 1930 – November 28, 2025
James Thomas Wells of East End, Arkansas was born July 24, 1930, in Hensley Arkansas, the son of the late Thomas Benjamin and Francis (Fannie) Bunch Wells. James spent four years in the United States Air Force then worked as an electrician for most of his life, including owning a custom sign and neon business. He was a long-time member of East End Baptist Church as well as the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. James enjoyed building turkey calls, duck calls, fish baits and even ink pens. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
James passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 95.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Harris Wells, son, James Michael Wells, son-in-law, Frank Howard, and his brothers Horace Allen Wells and Borace Robert Wells.
He is survived by his daughter Joan Howard; grandchild, Amanda (Jim) Acebedo; great grandchildren Christopher and Skylar Acebedo; and several nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2025, at East End Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Morrow officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery, also in East End. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Salem Cemetery.
