Obituary

Janice Johnson,66, of the East End Community, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday July 26, 2022. She was a Loan Assistant at Simmons Bank and was a member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, William Reloy Johnson and Joan Freeman Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Philip Jones; a step-daughter Brandy Jones; step-grand-daughter, Taylor Fijo; sister, Gail (David) Nix; nephews Justin (Dara)Nix and Tim (Sol) Nix; niece, Rachel (Brian) Dickerson; great nieces, Josie Nix, Jessica Nix; great nephew Bryson Dickerson; her two companion dogs Sammy Lee and Miss KK.

Janice fought a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was quick to tell you she beat the cancer. But her body just couldn't hold out. Janice's smile and laugh were known to all, she made friends everywhere she went. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't love her. Janice loved singing in the church choir and anywhere else she had a mind to.  She loved riding on the motorcycle with Phil and all the Blue Knights group. She especially loved to go down to the farm in Lewisville and sit on the carport and watch the cows and drink her coffee.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at UAMS 4 th floor and 7 th floor. They showed great compassion and care for her, truly they are angels on earth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery or East Union Baptist Church Mission Fund.
