Janice Barfoot Summit of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 2, 1951 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Pearline Smith Barfoot. She was an active member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, needlepoint, reading, singing and listening to music. She was a proud "NANA" to her precious grandchildren, Dalton and Erin.

Mrs. Summit died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 66.

Survivors: husband and best friend of 47 years, Billy R. Summit; son, Jason and wife Lynn Summit; daughter, Brandi Summit all of Sheridan; brothers, Kenneth Barfoot of Brandon, MS, Keith Barfoot of Monterey, LA; sisters, Joy Arnold of McCall Creek, MS, Missy Barfoot of Natchez, MS; uncle, Thomas Barfoot of McCall Creek, MS; 2 grandchildren, Erin and Dalton Summit and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. David Tucker, Bro. Joe Bratton and Bro. Jon Cox officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. also on Monday at Lone Valley Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 4-6 P.M.

Pallbearers are Stephen Barfoot, Renee Freeman, Theron Summit, Jeff Vance, Anthony Holmes and Andy Rutledge.
