Janie Ezelle Freeman Edwards of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 19, 1916 at Smackover, Arkansas the daughter of the late R.E. and Georgia Scott Freeman. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church at Sheridan and served her husband while pastor as "First Lady" at Assemblies of God Churches in Leola, Harrison, Warren, West Memphis and Little Rock. Her passion was music and she worked in the music ministry in each Church her husband pastored. Mrs. Edwards was a devoted Pastor's wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend.
Mrs. Edwards died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Dale Edwards and a sister, Irene Keen.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Rev. Basil Edwards of Sheridan

6 Great Grandchildren: Andrew Jones, Lauren Whitten, David Russell Whitten III, Ellen Whitten, William Jones, Audrey Whitten
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at First Assembly of God Church at Sheridan with Rev. Jimmy Bobo and Rev. Ron Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home-Sheridan.
