J. B. Freeman, age 82, of Ruston, Louisiana was born March 16, 1924 in Sheridan, Arkansas . He died on December 21, 2006 at Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ruston, Louisiana.

Mr. Freeman had been a life long resident of Sheridan, Arkansas until January 2000, when he moved to Ruston, Louisiana, following his third stroke. Since April of 2000, he had been a resident of the Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ruston.

Mr. Freeman was retired from the Grant County Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lorea Mitchell Freeman; his parents, Ola and John Freeman; two brothers, Edward Freeman and Hollis Freeman and sister in law, Elois Freeman.

He is survived by two children; a son, J.B. Freeman, Jr., of Beebe; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Freeman Rhodes and her husband, T. J. of Abilene, Texas; a special grandson, James Freeman of Benton; three other grandchildren and seven great grand- children; a brother, Vernon F. Freeman and his wife, Johnnie Lee of Sheridan; a sister, Margie F. Burton and her husband Eugene, of Ruston, Louisiana; a sister in law, Demarise Freeman of Sheridan;
a devoted niece, Jeanette F. Munds and her husband, Jim of Sheridan; three other nieces and eight nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the family plot in Lindsey Cemetery at Poyen, Arkansas with Rev. John Trotter of Ruston, Louisiana officiating.
