J.D. Dial of Pine Bluff, Arkansas died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab Center in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was a current member of First Baptist Church of Rogers. He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance where he worked as a Salesman in Malvern and a Sales Manager in Pine Bluff. He later retired from the Arkansas Department of Correction, Construction and Maintenance Division.
J.D. was born April 11, 1927 to Jesse James and Valora Trimble Dial in Leola, Arkansas. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Watson Chapel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, church, friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Dial, his sister, Kathleen Dial Hyde, and two grandchildren, Michael Wayne Kyzer and Hope Walker.
He is survived by a brother, Marvin Dial (Julia) of Leola; his wife, Nancy Dial of Pine Bluff; his four children and their spouses: Danny Dial (Beth) of Redfield, Debbie Dial Moore (Benny ) of Springdale, Marsha Dial White (Roy) of West Fork, Mark Dial (Donna) of Pine Bluff; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Faler officiating. Burial will be in Leola Cemetery at Leola, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2014, from 6-8 at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
