Jimmy Doyle "J.D." Reed of Hensley, Arkansas was born July 14, 1937 in East End, Arkansas, the son of the late Zeddie and Versie Spann Reed. He was a member of East End Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.

Mr. Reed died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at CHI St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 79.

Mr. Reed was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising a garden. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Lee Huff.

Survivors: wife and best friend of 60 years, Ernestine Damron Reed of Hensley; sons, Rich and wife Brenda Reed, Mitch and wife Patty Reed; daughters, Markeeta and husband Stan Cunningham, Jill Reed; brother, Thomas and wife Alice Reed all of East End; sister, Imogene Nuss of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at East End Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Hibbard and Bro. Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 10:00 until service time.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
