Jean Darnell Jones, 78, of Sheridan, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was born in Sheridan, Arkansas on December 20, 1938 to John Marshall and Roberta Lee Harper Darnell. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, JR Jones and brothers, Russell Darnell, John L. Darnell and Lee Darnell.

She retired after many years working at the Department of Health and Human Services. She was a member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She loved quilting, crocheting and cooking, but most of all Jean loved her family.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Jones (Shawn); daughter, Patsy Nowlin; grandchildren, Emily Howard (Jerry), Russell Jones (Reilee) and Kelsey McEuen; great-grandchildren, Conner, Taylor, Liam and Brantley. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan followed by burial at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, December 15, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Jeff Darnell, Buren Walker, Jr., Jason Darnell, Rich  Graham, David  Reynolds and Wayne Thornberry.
