Jean Carolyn Mayhan Hoar McGhee of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 1, 1930 in Scott, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert L. and Bessie L. Gordon Mayhan. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She had worked for many years at Arkla Gas, Rockwell and McCoy Tygart Drug Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Ms. McGhee died at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2020 surrounded by her family at the age of 90.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, David J. Hoar, and Ira "Buddy" McGhee; brothers, Bryce Mayhan and Dale Mayhan and a grandson, Jarrod Wylie.

Survivors: daughters, Sandra Bates, Joy (Phil) Shirron and Davalyn Harris all of Sheridan; brothers, Robert (Adah) Mayhan of El Dorado; sisters-in-law, Nell Mayhan of Birmingham, Alabama, Ruth Ann Mayhan of Little Rock; grandchildren, Cindy Gilbert, Lisa (David) Walters, David (Angel) Gilbert, Mishey (Josh ) Brown, Ryan Bates Stephen(Helen) Shirron, Phyllis Shirron, John (Renee) Harris, Frances McGhee, Shane (Tina) McGhee and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 8:00-11:00 A.M.
