Jean Haley Wells, 77 of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away peacefully Friday, March 31, 2023 at her daughter's home.

Ms. Wells was born on November 1, 1945 in Tyler, Texas, the daughter of late Edna and James Albert Haley. She was reared and received her early education in Tyler, Texas and then moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1954 and continued her education at Pine Bluff High, graduating in 1963.

She retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections in 2004 to take care of her late husband, Carl A. Wells. After the passing of her husband, she began to travel across the states looking for the luckiest casino. Her favorite place to be was Biloxi Beach.

Ms. Wells was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved all her "babies" and would do anything for them.

Ms. Wells was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother, James Robert Haley, and sister Pamela Schneller.

Her survivors include her 2 daughters, Melanie Terry (Bruce), Stacey Tarter (Aaron), six grandchildren, Amanda Cummins, Bruce Orrick, Shayna Tarter, Bradley Tarter, Hailey Hefner, Marty Stewart, 14 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, Brianna, Laighton, Emily, Rylie, Reagan, Eli, Junior, Bennett, Ezra, Emmitt, Endsley, Bryant and one great-great grandchild Braelynn and her precious sister Patti Bass.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
