Jewell Dean Herndon King, 95, of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026.

Born to the late CC and Myrtle Lowery on September 11, 1930, she lived a long and full life dedicated to her family and her faith. She was a devoted member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, attending until she was no longer able due to health issues.

Jewell Dean was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeff Herndon, Jr., daughter, Barbara Rutherford, second husband Herman King, sister, Eloise Freeman, brothers, Dewitt and Paul Lowery.

She is survived by her son, Dannie Herndon (Kathey) of Sheridan; granddaughters, Deanna House (Shawn) of Sheridan, Tina Masters (Josh) of Poyen; grandson, Kenny Rutherford of Sheridan; five great grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, whom all take comfort in knowing she is finally home in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral service will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Herndon, Brady Buchanan, Tracy Paul, Gary Don Hix, Tony Puckett and Ray Vance.
