Dr. Jim Stimson of Redfield, Arkansas was born June 19, 1935 near Paragould, Arkansas, the son of the late Clarence Melvin and Carrie Avis Fields Stimson. Dr. Stimson was a retired Dentist, having had practices in both Newport and later Redfield. He had served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Lion's Club, was a Methodist, and was active in dental associations, through which he attended conferences, both in Arkansas and regionally.
Dr. Stimson died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 77. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Gene Stimson.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sue Fitzgerald Stimson of Redfield; sons, Mel Stimson of Little Rock and Scott and wife Lisa Stimson of Redfield; daughter, Kim and husband Don Malone of Redfield; brother, Dr. Cary Wayne and wife Jofaye Stimson of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Josh Stimson, Anna Stimson, and Ben Malone.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Redfield Cemetery with Dr. Harold Mitchell officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
