Jimmie Alba Taylor Benning of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 5, 1938 in Texas, the daughter of the late James Taylor, Sr. and Mildred Haynie Taylor. Jimmie was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville for many years. She was gifted with an incredible singing voice, and music has always been her greatest passion. She was a retired accountant for the Arkansas Real Estate Commission and enjoyed taking trips to the beach.

Jimmie was one heck of a woman! She had the perfect mixture of strength, beauty and sophistication. She truly had a servants heart, and was an extremely caring, family-focused person. Jimmie leaves behind a rich legacy of courage and tenacity that won't be forgotten.

Mrs. Benning died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Hospice Homecare in Little Rock at the age of 77. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Lee Benning, and brothers, Donald Taylor, James Taylor, Jr. and Ricky Joe Taylor.

Survivors include her son, Steven Benning of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Mark George of Little Rock; granddaughters, McKenna and Tessa George of Little Rock; brothers, Arthur Taylor of Alexander, Roy Taylor of Malvern, Larry Taylor of Searcy; sister, Diane King of Haskell; brother-in-law, Larry Benning of Prattsville; sister of the heart, Luz Maria. She is also survived by a host of other family members and many friends.

A celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 30, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. A time of visitation will be Sunday, 1:00-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
