Jimmie "Jim" Charles Howard of Grapevine, Arkansas was born March 6, 1948, in Redfield, Arkansas the son of the late Charles Marion and Annie Onulack Howard. Jim was a proud U.S. Army veteran and had served during the Vietnam War. Outside of the service he worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator in the logging woods. Jim enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers, working on cars, watching and feeding the squirrels in his yard, and taking care of his dogs. Above all, Jim loved his family and prided himself on being a good dad and a good husband, he will be dearly missed by his family who loved him.
Jimmie passed away Sunday December 14, 2025, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Robert and James McCallister. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Floye Williams Howard, daughter Elva Jane McCallister, son Ben McCallister, brothers Donald Howard, David (Betty) Howard, and Robert (Peggy) Howard, sister Shirley (Jerry) Homsley, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews along with many friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday December 23, 2025, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with military honors rendered.
