Ira Jim "Jimmy" Herring of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 22, 1952 in De Queen, Arkansas, the son of the late Clarence and Oza Stewart Herring. He was a member of Forest Tower Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being a logger. He loved the Lord and knew his bible well.

Jimmy died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 64.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Herring, Alva Herring and Albert Herring.

Survivors: wife of 15 years, Stacy Brewer Herring; son, Ira James Herring; daughter, Delorse and husband Wesley Griffin all of Sheridan; brother, Tommy Herring of Little Rock; sisters, Clara York of Searcy, Evelyn and husband Johnny Taylor of Hardin; 2 grandchildren, Amanda and husband Carlin Riggs, Dustin Griffin; 4 great grandchildren, Peyton Riggs, Haven Riggs, David Griffin and Bailey Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A time of visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
