Jimmy Mack Taylor

Jimmy Mack Taylor of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born November 26, 1938, at Grapevine, Arkansas. His parents were the late Lewis C. and Rilza Owens Taylor.

He was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church.

He was reared and educated at Grapevine, graduating from Grapevine High School in 1957. He attended Arkansas Tech University at Russellville and then joined the Army, serving with the 489th Engineer Battalion.

He worked for International Paper Company for 41 years, retiring in 2001.

He enjoyed cars and all outdoor sports, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a charter member of the Grapevine Hunting Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles “Buddy” Taylor, and a sister, Sudie Rodgers.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Drake Taylor; two daughters, Tanya Ann Taylor of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Meleah Taylor Arnold (David) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two grandchildren, David Arnold, Jr., and Taylor Elizabeth Arnold, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Joyce Hudspeth of White Hall, Arkansas; and a brother, Shelby Taylor (Jo Ann) of Sheridan, Arkansas. 

Funeral service will be Friday, September 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shawn Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is prior to the service from 10:00 until service time.
