Jimmy Ray Cotton of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 30, 1944 in Sheridan, the son of the late of Frank Everett and Norma Jean Carver Cotton. He was a retired mechanic who enjoyed building race cars, racing cars and racing dirt track.
Jimmy was a member of Mid South Car Club and was the founder of Arkansas Dwarf Association as well as the owner of Forklifts and RaceCars ETC, LLC.
Jimmy died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the age of 81 at Alcoa Pines Nursing and Rehab in Benton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Cotton, brother, Randy Cotton, and first wife, Linda Cliff Cotton.
Survivors: daughter Carla (Ernie) Rodgers of Sheridan; brother, Jerry (Sandra) Cotton of Sheridan; wife, Margaret Brasher Sanchez-Cotton of Sheridan; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Visitation is prior to the service from 2:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Rhodes Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ernie Rodgers, Shane Davidson, Brayden Davidson, Amanda Green, Emily Davidson and Shelby Green.
Jimmy has seen the checkered flag, finished the race and won the battle.
