Obituary

James Thomas "Jimmy" Taylor of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 6, 1940, at Orange County, California, the son of the late James B. and Lillian Ashby Taylor. He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired Sergeant at Arkansas Department of Corrections. Jimmy was a founding member of "Missed It" Hunting Club, and he considered all of his hunting buddies, a part of his extended family. Whether taking them hunting, fishing, or camping, he enjoyed making memories with his family.

Mr. Taylor died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at his home in Sheridan, at the age of 78. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, June Yancey and Bobbie Guffey, and great grandson, Bentley Love.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Poe Taylor of Sheridan; sons, Tommy and wife Ginger Taylor of Big Springs, Texas, Bud Taylor and fiance' Jessica Grimes of Houston, Texas; daughters, Charlotte Taylor Stowe and husband Dave of Roland, Arkansas, Dana Taylor Poindexter and husband Jamie of Haskell; grandchildren, Tiffany Love, Jade Taylor, Robin Love, Mason Taylor, Brandon Love, Cody Love; great grandchildren, Ryker Jay Love,  Lilly Love, and Bryce Love; He is also survived by host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Robert Cossey and Bro. Jim Wagner officiating. A private family burial will be held. Visitation is Monday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
