Obituary

Jimmy Wimberly of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 3, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Emma Lee Cooper Wimberly and the late Earl Von Wimberly. He was an active member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church and had worked for over 29 years for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers where he had received the Employee of the Year award. He was a 1980 graduate of Sheridan High School, was a member of the Grant County Boxing Club and the Elite Boxing Club as well as the Davis Hunting Club.

Jimmy was a very community oriented man. He had many hobbies and loves in his life, some of which were, church camp; umpiring ballgames for boys, girls and adults and race cars. But most of all he loved to share the word of God with everyone he met.

Jimmy died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Conway Regional Medical Center at the age of 50.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Von Wimberly.

Survivors; Mother, Emma Lee Cooper Wimberly;
Sister, Brenda Lain and husband Mike;
Nephew, Brian Lain and wife Jessica;
Niece, Melissa Fuell and husband Jerald all of Sheridan;

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Carter and Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Donnie Wilkerson, Sr., Buddy Fowler, Fred Fowler, Chris Freeman, Clinton Sipes, Franklyn Thomason, Kermit Mangrum and Kerry McCool. Honorary pallbearers are the U.S. Corp of Engineers Crew.
