IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jodie Pauline
Lawson
January 8, 1934 – December 7, 2021
Jodie Pauline Parmer Lawson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 8, 1934 in
Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Arvil Jackson and Willie Curbow Parmer. She received
her formal education in the Beldon School District. Some of her fondest memories were
playing on the high school basketball team as a guard. She learned many lifelong
lessons growing up on a farm as well. That is really where her love for gardening and
cooking began. It was not unusual to find her alongside her mom preparing meals for
the rest of the family.
After relocating to Arkansas, she met her late husband, Billy. They enjoyed a life of 53
years together, and their greatest accomplishment was being parents to their three
daughters. Jodie and Billy worked together for many years at Sterling Faucet (Kohler),
but she eventually became an associate at Walmart and retired from there.
Camping, fishing, and being around family and friends were some of her favorite
pastimes. Her most important name was Mamaw, and her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren always put a smile on her face. She loved attending church and
was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan. Her later years were
spent at Crown Point and Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab where she passed away on
December 7, 2021 at the age of 87. Her new forever home is in heaven. She is pain
free and no longer living with the struggles of dementia. God is so great!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Lawson
and sons-in-law, Bo Harris and Ross Mote; brothers, O'Neil Parmer and Otis Parmer;
sisters, Opal Todd, Charlie Mae Henderson, and Billie Ann Neely.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Harris, Cheryl Mote, and Vickie (Jim) Easley;
grandchildren, Michael (Shelli) Harris, Nick Mote, Adam Mote, Christian Mote, Colt (Kayla) Easley,
Lawson (Katlin) Easley, and Anna (Austin) Gibbs; great- grandchildren, Tanner Harris,
Berkleigh Harris, Carter Easley, Easton Easley, Blakeley Easley, Beau Easley, Ellie
Gibbs, Evelyn Gibbs, Edith Gibbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Memorial Gardens
Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service at 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will
follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Landmark
Baptist Church, 402 W Center, Sheridan, AR 72150.
