Joe Edward Greeson, 72, of Sheridan, AR transitioned into his new life on August 13, 2021. Although fully vaccinated he succumbed to the Delta variant of COVID 19. He was born December 5, 1948 in Hot Springs AR, only child to the late Raymond Edward and Gwendolyn Pippin Greeson.

He retired from an almost 30-year career at Weyerhaeuser and moved on to spend seven years in the Sheridan Walmart meat department. Joe then began his favorite pastime, assisting at Go South Auctions in Sheridan.

Joe loved his family, cooking unpronounceable gourmet recipes and ribeye's, buying and selling on E-bay, and playing Texas hold'em. He loved to recount his adventures as one of the "original flower children" in San Francisco during the "Summer of Love" and proudly sported his ponytail.

He is survived by a son, Steven Greeson, three granddaughters, Morgan Greeson, Taylor (John) Hackney, Shelby Greeson, and two great grand twins, Sydney and Granger Johnson. Also, his 27-year life partner and best friend Mary Jane Bennett Baxley, a daughter, Tara (Jason) Scroggins and three grandchildren, Elisabeth Ausbrooks, William Ausbrooks, and Evan Scroggins.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, September 11, 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, AR.

The family would especially like to thank the wonderful health care professionals at Little Rock Baptist Hospital, ICU South, for his exceptional care and their valiant efforts to save his life.
