Joe Howard Williams of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 3, 1934 in Prattsville, Arkansas
the son of the late Clarence Albert and Sylvandia Jane Benning Williams. He was a member of
Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, had retired from International Paper Company after 38 years and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed horses and playing golf as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Joe Howard passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at HSC Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 73.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Orville Williams, Ralph Williams and Tommy Luther Williams and a sister, Barbara West.

Survivors: Wife of 49 years, Rachel Kauffman Williams of Sheridan;
Daughter, Vandra Williams Parish and husband Parker of Sheridan;
Brothers, Jim Williams of Prattsville; Charlie Williams of Sheridan;
Sisters, Virginia Arnold of Sheridan; Betty Sue and husband Clyde Gibbons of Malvern; Nancy and husband David Evans of Little Rock;
Granddaughter, Erika Parish and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Mark Evans and Rev. Shawn Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation: 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Mooney, Casey Marsh, Doug Hollinger, Virgil Swilling, Tommy Williams, Lance Wallingsford, Danny Arnold, Paul West and Randy Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph D. Williams, Bobby Thompson and J.L. Wilson.
