Obituary

John Kent Cheney of Grapevine, Arkansas was born January 29, 1953 in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Johnny and Laverne Glasco Cheney. He was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church near Redfield. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Little Rock for many years and had also served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, camping, and spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.

Mr. Cheney died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock at the age of 62.

Survivors: wife, Brenda Keown Cheney of Grapevine; daughters, Cristee Minyard; Jennifer and husband R.J. Spann all of Redfield; brothers, James and wife Linda Cheney of Jacksonville; Keith and wife Becky Cheney of Smiths Chapel; sister, Faye Jon Seay of Maumelle; 4 grandchildren, Holli, Johnny, Riley and Drake and a great grandchild, Jerry Brent, on the way, as well as many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Orion Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Easley officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Johnny Spann, Riley Spann, Drake Palmer, Jeff Cheney, Keith Greenwell and Donald Shull. Honorary pallbearers are Albert Ross and Hurley Bryant.
