John Crews of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 2, 1947 in Lake City, Arkansas the son of the late John "Jack" and Christine Connor Crews. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan where he had served as Deacon and the youth boys Sunday School teacher. He had worked in the banking industry earlier in his life and was retired farmer. He was an avid sports fan and liked tinkering with any kind of tractor or farm machinery.

Mr. Crews died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at HSC Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 64.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Crews and Jody Crews.

Survivors include his wife of over 38 years, Sarah Dunlap Crews;
Daughters, Elizabeth and husband Chris Hale;
Susan and husband Richard Hawkins all of Sheridan;
Brothers, Donald Crews and wife Peggy of Jonesboro;
Larry Crews and wife Diane of Lake City;
Granddaughters who were the light of his life, Rebekah Hale and Juliann Hale;


Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Sheridan. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darin Owens, Devin Owens, Brent Crews, Mark Dunlap, Mike Dunlap, Derek Phillips, Jordan Layrock, Rusty Short, Buddy Hamm, and the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Sheridan and First Baptist Church of Des Arc.
