John Driskell Hardin of Sheridan, Arkansas was born January 26, 1948 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the son of John Wesley Hardin and the late Josie Mae Flory Hardin. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan. He served in the United States Marine Corp having fought in the Vietnam war in the DMZ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
Mr. Hardin died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at UAMS at the age of 67 after a brief illness with leukemia.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Nelson Hardin and a sister, LaVonda Hardin Marshall.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Angela Renea "Punkin" and Eric Wilken of Benton; father, John W. Hardin of Sheridan; sisters, Kiska Atchley and husband Albert, Dianne Mooney, and Twyla Treadway all of Sheridan, and a host of extended family members, and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Gary Copeland and Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, David Mooney, John David Treadway, Nathan Atchley, Randy Rhodes, Landon Mills and Cameron Rhodes.
