Obituary

John Hall Nattin, Sr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 21, 1931 at Homer, Louisiana, the son of the late Harry Nathan Nattin and Elizabeth Roberta Adger Nattin.  He was born and raised in Homer, and graduated from Homer High School.  He then attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played football, and he also served in the United States Navy. Upon graduation, he was employed by International Paper Company, and was transferred to Mansfield, Louisiana. From there, his job moved he and his family to Arkansas in 1966, and they settled in Sheridan, where he lived the remainder of his life. He retired as a Forrester from International Paper Company.   Hall was the best friend a story ever had.  He had a story for every occasion, and nearly all of them eventually ended up in laughter.  He truly loved people, and invested in their lives.  He gave so much of himself to his "other family" at Alcoholics Anonymous for many years, as their sponsor, and more importantly, their friend.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan, and was a former Boy Scout Leader in Louisiana. Mr. Nattin enjoyed fishing, woodworking in his shop, tending his immaculate lawn, and playing golf.  In fact, he was one of the founders, and charter members, of Sheridan Golf and Country Club.  He genuinely felt that his greatest gift and accomplishment was his family.  He took great pride in being an awesome dad, grandpa, and great grandpa.

Mr. Nattin died Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Sheridan, at the age of 90.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Janet Nell Aubrey Nattin and Neita Dickerson Nattin; a son, Craig Nattin; brothers, Bobby Nattin and Harry Nattin; sister, Antoinette Clisham.

Survivors include his son, John Hall "Johnny" Nattin, Jr. of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Rene and Jim Belt of Shreveport, Louisiana; twin sister, Claire Acklin of Haynesville, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Julia Dickerson of Mansfield, Louisiana; grandchildren, Colton Garrett Nattin of Sheridan, James Henry Belt  of Shreveport, Louisiana, Cain Wyatt Nattin and wife Rachel of Sheridan, Madeleine Belt of Baton Rouge, Lousiana; 1 great granddaughter, Raeleigh Nattin; niece, Debby Nims of Shreveport, Lousiana; nephews, Ron Clisham of New Orleans, Louisiana, David Nattin of Austin, Texas, Dave Acklin of Haynesville, Louisiana and Dan Acklin of Haynesville, Lousiana; great nephews Nathan Harry Nattin IV and Noah Allen Nattin of Austin, Texas.
