John Eric Phillips of Leola, Arkansas was born March 9, 1965 in Malvern, Arkansas. He was the son of the late John A. Phillips and Vivian Ann Phillips.

He graduated from Leola High School in 1983 and attended Garland County Community College.

John was a faithful member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed by Dassault-Falcon Jet for 21 years until he became too ill to continue in March 2020.

John loved the outdoors no matter what the weather was like. He loved gardening and he took pride in knowing he had the prettiest yard in town. He loved spending time with his family and loved playing any kind of ball with his boys and whoever else wanted to stop by and play. John became a grandfather in July 2020 and was known as "Pops" to his grandson.

John died September 9, 2021 at the age of 56.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Katie Phillips and maternal grandparents, Jeff and Myrl Baker.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rhonda Anderton Phillips; son Jordan Phillips and his wife Sarah; son Jace Phillips; daughter Vivian Phillips; grandson Mason Phillips; sister Leann Carpenter and her husband Richard; uncles Billy Phillips and Clark Phillips; two very special cousins Dan and Mayetta Holland; his brothers in Christ Kim Teague and Mike Golden; numerous nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 5:30 P.M. at First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Richard Sullivant and Bro. J.J. Harrington officiating. Visitation will also be at the church at 4:30 P.M. until service time.
